Community of

 Christ Church

The worshiping community at Christ Church includes people of all ages.

In addition to the worshiping community of Christ Church, many other groups use the church building and property for their work and activities. Four AA groups meet here: Saturday at noon, Monday at 8pm Wednesday and Thursday at 11am. Music lessons and martial arts are offered. League of Women Voters holds many meetings here. Creating Hope International maintains office space. Chapel Day Preschool is a ministry of Christ Church, and celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019. We have a vibrant, organic community garden group, and a lively, large Boy Scout troop that fills the building on Tuesday nights.

Other groups use the building from time to time for music recitals, weddings, funerals, and a variety of activities. The Christ Church food pantry is a member of Gleaners Food Bank, and we partner with people experiencing food scarcity to ensure that people are fed.

We strive to feed people in mind, body, and spirit!

In addition to the many groups that meet at Christ Church, we also strive to be active members in the Dearborn community. We We have members serving on the Healthy Dearborn initiative and with environmental work and studies in Dearborn through UofM Dearborn. Blessings in a Backpack stores and sets up backpacks of food for weekends, which are packed by members of local churches and other Dearborn groups, for Dearborn children who struggle with food scarcity issues.

Like other houses of worship and local groups, Christ Church is active in our interfaith community in Dearborn. We've hosted the annual interfaith Martin Luther King, Jr., commemoration service twice in the last decade, and we participate in a variety of interfaith events. We believe that building interfaith relationship is part of our call as a Christian community practicing the teachings of Jesus to love God, love self, and love our neighbors as ourselves.
